The following are books that have been a blessing, that are strongly recommended. However, most of these books (other than the bible online) are not free and will need to be purchased.


Read through the all the books of the Bible. The website  allows you to read or listen to a large choice of Bible translation online.

Knowing God by J. I. Packer

This is one of the best books we have read about God, for those who want to know Him as revealed in Scripture. This book has blessed millions of people.

Desiring God: Meditations of a Christian Hedonist by John Piper

A celebration of Scripture’s teaching that God is our supreme treasure, and that our greatest pleasure and satisfaction is found  when our soul’s desire is for God Himself.

Studies in the Sermon on the Mount by Martin Lloyd-Jones

An amazing exposition of the sermon on the mount, by one of the most powerful preachers of the previous generation

Christian Beliefs: Twenty Basics Every Christian Should Know by Wayne Grudem

This is a handbook of basic christian doctrine: a synopsis of the same author’s “Systematic Theology”.

A Praying Life: Connecting with God in a Distracting World by Paul E. Miller.

This is a practical eye-opening book for those of us who struggle to pray!

When God Weeps by Joni Eareckson Tada

A practical book encouraging us in the midst of our deepest suffering, by affirming the absolute sovereignty of God over all things, and the deep love and care God has for us.

Radical: Taking Back Your Faith from the American Dream by David Platt:

This book challenges us about the way we live out our faith in a culture steeped in pursuing the American Dream.

New Morning Mercies: A Daily Gospel Devotional by Paul David Tripp

An excellent daily devotional by one of the nation’s leading christian counselors.

Systematic Theology: An Introduction to Biblical Doctrine by Wayne Grudem

A surprisingly readable book, that can be considered to be an in-depth topical bible study of basic christian doctrine. It is an excellent reference resource.
